EDC Packing List: Rave Essentials for Electric Daisy Carnival

· Festival Recovery

Techno dance floor lit red at night

EDC Las Vegas runs dusk to dawn for three nights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That schedule changes how you pack: you are on your feet for 10 hours a night, the desert is still warm after dark, and everything you carry has to get through a bag check. Here is the EDC packing list we use, split into what goes inside and what stays at your hotel or campsite.

Check the rules first. EDC publishes an official FAQ and prohibited items list every year, and bag checks follow it. Rules below reflect recent years; confirm the current list before you pack.

Inside the Speedway: carry these every night

Recent rules allow small bags up to 12 x 12 inches, and hydration packs with no more than two main compartments and one small one, empty on entry.

  • Ticket, wristband (registered) and government photo ID
  • Phone and a portable charger
  • Card plus a little cash
  • Hydration pack, empty at the gate, filled at the water stations inside
  • Earplugs. Reusable musician-style plugs keep the bass and cut the volume.
  • Sealed lip balm and sealed sunscreen for the late sets that run into sunrise
  • Sealed wet wipes and sealed gum
  • Small fan or bandana for heat and dust
  • Your totem, if it meets EDC's totem guidelines
  • A meet-up plan. Pick a landmark and a time; cell service struggles in big crowds.

Leave these at the hotel or campground

Items EDC has prohibited in recent years include:

  • Outside food and drink, coolers, cans and glass
  • Over-the-counter medication and eye drops (EDC says these are available inside)
  • Bags over 12 x 12 inches
  • Aerosol cans and liquid makeup
  • Professional cameras, drones, laser pointers
  • Chairs, blankets and tents

That means your vitamins and supplements stay back at your room or campsite too. If you use the Revive Recovery Kit, take your PM packet with dinner before you head in, and your AM packet with breakfast after you wake up. A 3-Day Kit covers the weekend.

What to wear

  • Broken-in shoes or boots. You will walk miles across asphalt and dirt.
  • Cushioned socks, plus a fresh pair in your bag
  • Outfits for three nights, planned before you leave home
  • A light layer for the hour before sunrise, when the desert finally cools
  • Sunglasses for the walk out at dawn

Back at your room or campsite

  • Electrolyte drink mix and plenty of water for the daytime
  • Real meals before each night. Eat dinner before the gates open.
  • Blackout eye mask and earplugs for daytime sleep
  • Toothbrush, face wipes, deodorant and blister pads
  • Prescription medication in its original labeled container
  • Phone charger and a power strip for the whole group

Camping at EDC

  • Tent with stakes for hard ground, plus a shade structure if allowed
  • Sleeping bag or blanket and a pad
  • Battery fan for daytime heat in the tent
  • Headlamp
  • Shower shoes and a quick-dry towel
  • Trash bags

Getting there and back

  1. Decide your transport before you arrive: shuttle pass, rideshare or parking. The Speedway is about 30 minutes from the Strip without traffic, and traffic is heavy.
  2. Screenshot your ticket, the map and the set times.
  3. Share your location with your group.
  4. Plan the ride home at dawn while you still have battery.

Look out for each other

Use the buddy system, keep an eye on your drink, and know where the medical tents are. More tips on our Helpful Tips page, and the full general list in our festival packing list.
